Sacred Valley of Tsum

FullSizeRender(64)

Forbidden to the outside world until 2008, Tsum Valley is a pristine Himalayan sanctuary with its rich culture and breath taking landscape. It has been a very important pilgrimage site for the Buddhists near and far. The valley lies in the Gorkha district which is in the north-central Nepal and is surrounded by the majestic mountains such as Ganesh, Sringi, Himalchuli and Boudha. The locals here are called Tsumbas who originally migrated from Tibet. Since the valley was not accessible to the outside world for so many years, its culture, art and religion are very well preserved. Having a profound faith in Buddhism, people here do not kill animals or birds. The area is lost in time and anyone who visits Tsum Valley would feel that the time has come to standstill.
